Cropsey tended to autumnal colors, and even this scene must be late summer, judging by the foliage. Long before this site came to be dominated by the Bridge it provided the citizenry with a vista of the Hudson heading out to see and all that lay beyond.
If you climb to the top of the hill, the views of the surrounding area are really great! It is a small park, but has a nice wild feeling to it, not far from busy streets.
